About Us

What is Project Graduation?

A parent- and community-sponsored tradition, running strong since 1980.

Project Graduation is a parent- and community-sponsored, all-night, alcohol-free, drug-free celebration for high school graduates. Modeled after the nationwide program that began in Maine in 1980, it offers graduates a safe and fun way to celebrate their accomplishments.

FHS Project Graduation is a party for our seniors, held on graduation night. In a culture where everything we do seems to involve alcohol, it is important for these young adults to see that alcohol isn’t a necessary ingredient for a good time.

And it’s an amazing party. Thanks to the collaborative efforts and generous backing of our community, the festivities unfold all night long. The planning and execution are overseen entirely by FHSPG volunteers — we rely on community sponsors and a workforce of over 100 volunteers for setup, the party itself, and the cleanup after.

Contrary to a common misconception, participation isn’t limited to senior parents. We welcome the involvement and support of all FHS grade-level parents. Join us in helping make this and future events “a celebration our graduates will live to remember!”
